This past Sunday, January 29, occupiers swarmed a Fox News van because it was parked in front of a fire hydrant. That same day, Ryan Lash – the same activist who provided a quote for my previous article on Occupy DC – was tracked down and tased by police after ripping down a parks department flier. The flier was announcing the enforcement of a sleeping ban on The McPherson Square and Freedom Plaza parks beginning the next day, January 30.
The park police, who conducted an inspection at midday, saw that the MacPherson square encampment had rolled up their sleeping bags. But in the center of the park now stood a giant tent supported by the bronze statue of General McPherson, emblazoned with the cringe-worthy name “Tent of Dreams.”
